The best way to catch fish is to keep fishing. It sounds simple but for many it's not. The wind might be blowing, it may be raining, it could be cold or it could be that all these conditions are occurring at once. It would be easy to quit, go home and binge your favorite television show on Netflix. Stop right there and change your approach!
Maybe all you need to do is throw on a rain jacket or sweatshirt. Maybe you need to switch to a different lure. Maybe you need to fish faster or slower. Whatever the change needs to be make it! You'd be surprised how many times I've wanted to stop fishing, kept going and ended up having a great day. It hasn't always ended with a bunch of catches but it always makes me feel god to know I stuck with it. There's a huge sense of accomplishment in that!

I'm aware this sounds like I'm using fishing as a subject of symbolism and it's partially true. This is often how I live my life. I keep moving forward. If something I'm doing isn't working I try something different and switching things up a bit always works. Whether it's catching bass or replacing a car part I always move forward. I'll sometimes go through 5 or 6 fishing lures before I start getting bit. After that it's a matter of dialing it in. It's the same with everything else. If I'm feeling something isn't working I change it.
The change you make doesn't have to be huge either. It can be something simple like lure color. There have been times I've thrown a pumpkinseed colored worm wacky rigged and have had one tiny nibble. I switched to the same exact worm but in a black and blue color and started catching fish. I could've easily quit and went home. I instead made a small change and kept fishing. I've never been a quitter and it's served me well. So next time you feel like packing up your gear and heading home remember to stick with it! You won't regret it!
